Returns, Refunds & Damaged Deliveries
Every DJC Artistry piece is individually handcrafted and one of a kind. We want you to feel confident when purchasing, so we describe and photograph each piece as accurately as possible.
This policy applies to purchases made from DJC Artistry in New Zealand and is subject to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you have under New Zealand consumer law.
Change of Mind
Because each DJC Artistry piece is unique, we do not offer returns or refunds simply because you change your mind after purchasing.
Please check the product description, photographs, dimensions, materials and delivery information carefully before placing your order.
This does not affect your rights if a piece is faulty, damaged, does not match its description, or otherwise fails to meet the guarantees provided by New Zealand consumer law.
One-of-a-Kind Timber Pieces
Natural timber varies in grain, colour, texture, shape, knots, cracks, weathering and other natural characteristics.
These features are part of the individual character of each DJC Artistry piece and are not considered faults where they have been shown or described as part of the item.
Because every piece is individually made, an exact replacement may not always be possible.
Faulty or Incorrect Items
Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, products must be of acceptable quality, fit for their intended purpose and match the description provided.
If you believe your item is faulty, materially different from its description, or otherwise does not meet these guarantees, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We may ask you to provide photographs and details of the issue so we can assess the most appropriate remedy.
Depending on the nature of the problem and your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act, the remedy may include a repair, replacement, refund or another appropriate solution.
For a minor fault, DJC Artistry may choose whether to repair, replace or refund the item. Where there is a substantial failure, you may have the right to reject the item and choose a refund or replacement in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act.
Damaged in Transit
DJC Artistry takes particular care when packaging pieces for delivery. Where DJC Artistry arranges the courier or freight service, we remain responsible for ensuring your order reaches you in good condition.
If your order arrives damaged, please:
- Contact us as soon as possible after delivery.
- Take clear photographs of the damaged item.
- Photograph the outer packaging, internal packaging and courier label.
- Keep all packaging until we have advised you what to do next.
We will work with you to resolve the issue in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act.
Missing or Delayed Deliveries
If DJC Artistry has arranged delivery and your order has not arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us rather than the courier.
We will investigate the delivery and work with the carrier to resolve the issue.
Where no specific delivery date has been agreed, goods must still be delivered within a reasonable time.
Returning a Faulty Item
Please contact DJC Artistry before returning any item.
If a return is required because the item is faulty or otherwise does not comply with the Consumer Guarantees Act, DJC Artistry will meet reasonable return delivery costs where required by law.
Please do not send an item back without first contacting us.
Damage After Delivery
DJC Artistry is not required to provide a remedy where damage has been caused after delivery by misuse, accidental damage, alteration, failure to follow reasonable care instructions or an unauthorised repair.
This does not affect any rights you may otherwise have under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
Commissioned Pieces
Commissioned pieces are made specifically for the customer and cannot be returned simply because the customer changes their mind.
Commissioned pieces remain covered by applicable New Zealand consumer law. If a commissioned piece is faulty, does not match what was agreed, or otherwise fails to meet the guarantees required by law, your statutory rights still apply.
Refunds
Where a refund is required, it will be made using the original payment method wherever reasonably possible.
Any refund or remedy will be provided in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act.
